Yong Han had a bumpy start to his working life before an unexpected encounter with an ex-colleague gave him a second chance to succeed as a financial consultant. His first job was with a local bank’s backend operations which involved lots of paperwork and long hours. He decided to expand his work horizons by joining his then-insurance agent and started work at one of Singapore’s biggest insurer.
His career in the financial services industry did not start off smoothly and he found himself reexamining his career path when he met Eunice Goh, who subsequently became his manager at Trust Advisors Group (TAG). After understanding Yong Han’s challenges in making progress as a tied agent, Eunice and Quan Bao, Senior Group Director of TAG, encouraged him to join the group. With their coaching and guidance, Yong Han’s career finally took off and he achieved what he never imagined possible.
As a self-employed individual, it is easy to slack off and procrastinate. So Yong Han is conscientious to remind himself to complete all the work meant for today instead of pushing it till tomorrow.
Yong Han also ensures that he gives his all when handling every claim—big or small. In an ideal world, there would be no claims to make. However, life is unpredictable, hence Yong Han feels the importance of having the right insurance. He recalls a client who slipped outside his office and ran up a $1,200 bill to fix his fractured foot. As it was not a work-related accident, he could not claim it from his company’s insurance. Yong Han managed to make a full claim under the client’s personal accident insurance. The client was relieved because the payout was about a third of his monthly salary. He was so pleased with the service that he recommended Yong Han to his siblings and friends.

Yong Han is fascinated by photography’s ability to capture a moment for posterity. We see many different things every day but no two experiences are identical, like how today’s sunrise will never look the same as the one tomorrow.
Yong Han also enjoys discovering the many profiles of coffee and learning new ways of making this little yet potent cup of beverage. He welcomes coffee lovers to join him for a coffee session, or have a chat over their favourite drink.
