Developing a sense of loyalty and a commitment to excellence has paid off handsomely for Benson. Back in 1994, he decided to follow in the footsteps of SG Alliance founder Pang Kong Bin, who was his trusted family insurance agent then. From Pang’s example, Benson saw how resilience and discipline could be rewarding yet transform lives. So, he made the move to join Pang’s team to learn from scratch the finer aspects of financial advisory.
Today, Benson is a group director overseeing a team, which includes several Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) achievers and Court of the Table (COT) qualifiers. If there is one thing 27 years in the financial advisory business has taught Benson, it is the importance of staying focused on the needs of the client and plain hard work, the same qualities his consultants look to him for in terms of guidance and motivation.
Benson believes that communal feasting centered on the king of fruits uplifts the spirit and soothes the soul. The durian aficionado would spare no effort to order the finest selection of durians from Malaysia, and have them delivered to his office in Singapore.
