Winston loves stories but not just any stories. Stories that teach and transform lives.
His favourite is about a boy who kept saving beached starfish by throwing them back into the ocean. A passer-by asked why he bothered since there were millions of starfish and his job would never be done. The boy’s reply echoes the life and career philosophy that seems to have guided Winston all along: “For each one that I return to the ocean, it makes a difference to that starfish. I might not be able to help all the starfish, but I still want to make a difference for those I can.”
Winston began his career at Prudential in 1998. Described as compassionate, hardworking and resilient, Winston rose rapidly in the ranks. By 2017, he was ready to head his own group and together with two co-founders established TAO. TAO, which also stands for ‘Together As One,’ has grown to be 18 members strong in the few short years.
Being an effective mentor is Job #1 for this director. To help his team achieve a high level of care and professionalism, he conducts one-to-one coaching and regularly engages each member to understand their difficulties as well as to get feedback.
Winston’s plan is to grow TAO to be a team that is ever-relevant with the times, equipped with the skillsets and the mindset to make the best holistic recommends for clients. In his own words, “We want to do more than meet our client’s goals; we want to make a real difference in the lives of those we can help.”
The father of two practices Feng Shui and applies its principles of harmony, good energy and balance at home and at work.
